I am deeply attracted to all things plastic—how brightly coloured it is, how shiny, its translucent, neon and synthetic qualities—enticed by the slight distastefulness of it all. I find beauty in pedestrian objects, the tackier the better, and live by the mantra "More is more." In this body of work, I aim to create conceptualized domestic spaces, lands of fake and excess, in a future where we cannot destroy this manufactured material and must find ways to repurpose it. In this psychedelic IKEA catalogue of chaotic spaces, I wish to evoke themes of childhood nostalgia through packaging and toys as well as translate a playfulness through pattern and distortion.
